Music Industry Learning (MIL) is a non-profit organisation based in Salford. We design and deliver a broad range of music & media related courses to people locally, nationally and even internationally regardless of how much experience they have in the industry.

Bullet CHRIS BROPHY: CEO
Chris BrophyA classically trained pianist, composer, sound engineer, record producer and remixer whose music has featured on 114 charts around the world including five number ones in America. He has also remixed a Grammy nominated single and promoted records internationally. Chris has also presented a syndicated radio show on 76 stations globally to 2.2 million listeners. Bullet MIKE PEVITT: TREASURER
Mike PevittA lecturer in mathematics at Bolton College who works with under-achieving learners aged 16 - 18. Mike is co-founder of Salford Community Radio and Creative Industries in Salford. His film exploits led him to come up with the idea of Salford Film Festival in 2003. Credited by the leader of Salford City council as one of the main drivers in bringing the BBC to Salford due to Mikes tireless work amongst the grassroots of music and film in the City of Salford

Bullet JOE BARNWELL: DIRECTOR
Joe BarnwellHe has taught various aspects of media studies and music to a wide range of students that have been faced with disadvantages and vulnerabilities. Joe uses his range of teaching and music skills to reach the groups with barriers to learning. Now an experienced broadcaster with Salford City Radio, he continues to give disadvantaged people the experience of broadcasting. A multi-skilled guy who works hard with enthusiasm no matter how big the challenge



Tony PearsonBullet TONY PEARSON: PROJECT MANAGER
An experienced music industry professional whom has worked with numerous bands and regularly promotes live music. Tony managed a charity for several years where he supported all the fundraising which involved organising gigs and promoting the charitys aims and objectives. He has also worked as a Community Development Officer and has worked on projects for BBC Radio 4 and 5 and a Sony nominated documentary for BBC Radio 1

Angie BurgessBullet ANGIE BURGESS: VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Angie has spent the past 11 years using her administration, fundraising and organisational skills to support junior football teams in Salford. She loves all kinds of music and enjoys attending gigs. Prior to her current employment in a senior business support role, Angie completed 13 years service with the RAF followed by 2 years in a telesales and a further 2 years working in a customer service role.

Susan BoweryBullet SUSAN BOWERY: PROJECT ASSISTANT
Susan is a talented singer who has performed at the world famous Cavern Club, Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, Liverpool Echo Arena and alongside Salford's very own Russell Watson at the XVII Commonweatlth Games. Susan has a wealth of experience performing in musicals and has also branched out in to television appearing in Coronation St, Shamelss and Hollyoaks.
